How do I maintain my luxury vinyl?

vinyl floor cleaning Cambridge

It’s important to maintain your Vinyl floor to ensure it lasts you a long time, maybe even a lifetime if you choose wisely. I mean everyone wants to get a long life out of anything they purchase, Right?

There are many different brands of vinyl flooring and these include: Amtico, Karndean, Altro, Polyflor are just a few.

Vinyl flooring is made of layers of special plastics, as it is softer than some other hard flooring it does tend to scratch easily, in this case, we would recommend that an acrylic sealer is applied on top of a newly laid vinyl floor.

This is called sacrificial coating and will cope with heavy through traffic for several months, after this time we recommend this coating to be stripped back again and a new fresh coat of sealer or polish to be applied to the vinyl flooring. Regular maintenance to a vinyl floor is so important in order to keep it looking its best.

It’s important to have the correct floor cleaning equipment and solutions for your vinyl flooring.

The Vinyl floor will need to be completely cleaned and dried before we polish using a medium high-speed red rotary brush can be applied.

This will help to maintain the high sheen of the vinyl floor, if you do not complete this process of burnishing the vinyl floor it will lose its high gloss sheen.
