We all love a fluffy soft Rug under our feet, they look amazing around the home and very on-trend right now, however, we often get asked the question ‘Can my Sheepskin Rug be cleaned?’.
You can get two different types of sheepskin Rugs:
- A really good quality rug that is made up of more than one skin. They are slightly more expensive.
- A cheaper quality that maybe looks as good but after a short time they can look awful. You can maybe get one of these for £30-£40.
When buying a Rug, you need to do a simple test, grab the rug, and pull the fur very gently and if you can hear a slight tearing noise you will find that the Rug is not good, and the skin has dried out and is no good. In this case, we are unable to clean this Rug.
If you do not hear any tear, then the skin will be in good condition so we can gently clean it for you. We will never be able to get this as good as new again, but we can make it look better.
You might find that a good Dry cleaner like Farthings Cambridge can help with the clean of this type of Rug as they are more expert in cleaning leathers.
