When choosing your Carpet, it is important for it to look lovely and hard wearing especially if it’s going in a heavy traffic area. Sisal Carpet can look stylish and hard-wearing but does have some downsides and this is when it gets dirty and needs cleaning.
This type of carpet is very hard to clean because of a few reasons:
- Once sisal carpet becomes wet it can shrink.
- Is very very absorbent so any spillage can get right in the fibres of the carpet and become more difficult to remove, especially the staining.
What can be done?
Unfortunately, trying not to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems you will have to live with the stain.
The best thing to do is to scrape as much of the dirt, cake, or chocolate up as you can and use a small amount of surgical spirit to dab on the area to get as much of the marks out as you can, a water-based cleaner will not touch this type of stain on a sisal carpet. Be careful not to rub the stain and to just dab the stain, rubbing can make it worse.
