Carpet cleaning – are you ready for Christmas?

Eeeeeeek, it's nearly Christmas… my favourite time of the year!

It's the time of year when your homes will fill with more guests than usual, and your carpets will see a lot of feet… are your carpets clean and are you ready for Christmas? No, maybe a little treat for them, and you are in order.

The thought of cleaning your carpets sounds daunting at this time of year, especially with the rising cost of living. However, cleaning your carpets is essential. Your carpet has had traffic through the spring, summer, and autumn. Ridding that awful bacteria will keep your family and your guest safe while you enjoy hosting Christmas parties… not forgetting getting rid of that annoying stain will be better for the photos.

Some photos our guys have took of carpets cleaned and all ready for Christmas:

Five reasons you should have your carpets cleaned for Christmas:

  1. Removes stains and marks before all the photos – this must be one of the most important things as far as I’m concerned. I even tidy and clean before I take any photos, let alone at Christmas. Spills and stains on the floor ruin every picture, and editing is not how you want to spend your evening.
  2. Improves your mood instantly – My mum always used to say clean house, clean mind… messy house, messy mind. Now, this very much resonates with me. I must tidy before I sit down to write or create anything. It’s the only way I can focus… with three boys, this can be pretty difficult hahaha.
  3. Lengthens the life of your beautiful carpet – making your investment last is essential, even more so this year.
  4. Less smelly – Christmas with all the family around, the last thing you want is the carpet to smell. Giving the carpets a good clean make everywhere smell fresh and clean.
  5. Healthier environment for your family and pets – A grubby appearance is the least of our problems. Carpets harbour many bacteria and germs that can harm your family’s health. For people with allergies, this is a big problem. I don’t think it’s common knowledge that your carpet could cause many issues with asthma or eczema. Dust mites alone can lay 80 eggs at a time, and then you breathe them in… not nice!

If you’re thinking about doing it yourself or getting your friendly professional in, there are a few things we recommend:

Ask your friendly professional to help clean your carpets and prepare for Christmas.

Mistakes are hard to fix, so before you consider getting a cleaning solution and doing it yourself, always ask for advice. As much as getting them to do the cleaning will be costly, they are abundant with the knowledge to help you. To see what a professional may cost and include, check out the blog at the end.

Always research carpet cleaning companies, even at Christmas.

When researching a carpet cleaning company, do as much research on them as possible. I know you want your carpets cleaned for Christmas, but getting the right people for you is important. Please look at their before and after pictures, methods and the most important one…. Check their reviews! You need to know if the company is trustworthy, and reviews are the best way to do this.

Always remember that if you want a spot clean or a small job, all companies will have a minimum charge… when you call up the companies, always check this. Most, like us, will have a minimum amount, as outlined in our blog at the bottom of this page.

Book as soon as you can to get your carpets clean for Christmas

At this time of year, many people are looking to get their carpets clean so quick, get booking! While most companies will try to make room for all your needs, I would get on that phone and book quickly if your schedule is tight. (Think of your photos and the additional fresh-smelling rooms)
